I met John through Josephine - we all worked at Cantor together. Although I did not know him very well personally, I felt as if I did. I would hear all about your many weekend excursions together and knew how much you all meant to each other. It was never John or Judy, it ws always "John and Judy" - which made me very aware of the special bond you had with each other. "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die" (Thomas Campbell, poet). I beleive that John lives in all your hearts!

In the 25 years that I have known the Sbarbaro Family, John had always been the "live wire". He was always quick with a joke and always made you feel that you were a member of the family for many years. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. John will be missed by all who came in contact with him.

We have woven in and out of John's life for over 30 years. From grammar school thru the Tun's/Libations years and more recent times. The house in Killington,Frippy's "moving day", and first prize in every Bay Ridge bar for our Fruit of the Loom outfits. We laugh when we share those times and John will always bring a smile to our faces. John and Judy, Thank You both for being their for us this past summer when we were going through trying times. You truly understood and helped ease the pain and anxiety. The "gift" you gave us to share when I got better will wait for the day when we can all share in it together. That will be the day I can say I truly have recovered. John, our true friend we will miss you. Judy, our true friend, we will always be there for you.

Kathy, I was somehow fortunate enough to be 3000 miles away when this unexplainable event took place. But because of that, I only heard of the tragic loss of your brother today. Nothing I write can express the sorrow I feel for you and your family. I pray for all of you to be able to somehow get through this and be able to move forward.
Your friend,
Susan

Dear John, I remember the 1st time I came to play for Rockne, I was always getting into a fight and causing penalties. You and Rafe knew the talent I had but didn't want to have that kind of team. You taught me how to play the game of football the right way. You was known as the "genious". You took our team to the big show and I will never forget that feeling I had when we won, it was my first championship, and because of you and what you taught us, we was victorious. I will never forget you John. ROCKNE forever.

Although I never met John, I heard many great things about him from Corinne. He always sounded like such a warm and fun-loving man. It's so hard to imagine that he will not be there at the next family gathering - telling stories and making people laugh. My heart goes out to your family in this terrible time. Words can't really express my sympathy but I feel that I have to try and tell you all how sorry I am and how you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
